Child Wins Writing Contest with Story of Her Adoption

When adoptive parents Stephen and Vicky brought Emma home from the hospital, she was only a day old. Now 11, Emma has always known she was adopted—and it's something she takes great pride in.

So when Emma decided to enter a writing contest at her school, she knew exactly what she would write about. Her parents were touched and surprised to learn the topic of her story: her own adoption; but they were even more surprised to learn that Emma had won first place in the contest.

Although Emma's story varies slightly from what actually happened the day her parents took her home, it is a beautiful account of the day as she understands it. Stephen and Vicky are so proud of Emma and feel incredibly blessed to be her parents.

Just read Emma's story and you will understand why.
