From our Adoption and Maternity Program to interventions for at-risk youth, Volunteers of America has evolved over the decades to provide services for children and families in need in south Louisiana. Post-Katrina, these programs are more important than ever to help children and families cope with loss, displacement and stress.

Mentors Help At-Risk Youth
Though Betty Irving lost all in the storm, she still finds time to mentor. Irving is a volunteer in our Mentoring Children of Promise program, which reaches out to youngsters with incarcerated parents. Children with incarcerated parents are innocent, but they face tough challenges.
