Volunteers of America urges families to consider opening their homes and hearts to children in foster care who need adoptive parents. We work with Wendy’s Wonderful Kids, a national initiative of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, that helps children waiting in foster care find "forever" families.

There are 126,000 American children in the foster care system waiting to be adopted, including 455 in the New Orleans area.

Nearly 40 percent, or 81.5 million, American adults have considered adopting a child.  If one in 500 of these adults adopted, every waiting child in foster care would have a permanent family.  Meet a few of the wonderful kids who are looking for adoptive families.
