Individually and collectively Volunteers of America ministers are called to:
- Celebrate and administer the sacraments
- Honor the ecumenical view of different approaches to Christianity and be dedicated to the interfaith offering of our service
- Lead and participate in formal worship
- Actively participate in formal worship
- Actively participate in the local ministry plan
- Be a servant leader and teacher
- Be a shepherd and accept the pastoral role
