Interested in volunteering in New Orleans and surrounding areas? At Volunteers of America, we can show you how to volunteer in ways that are meaningful to you. We have volunteer programs for individuals, groups, seniors and youth--local residents and visitors to our area.
Our volunteers help us serve more than 63,000 persons in need throughout southeast Louisiana in a variety of helping programs that focus on children, families, seniors and persons with disabilities.
We need people like you to join us in helping others. At our organization, volunteers are essential. Here are some examples of volunteer opportunities:
- landscaping homes of persons with disabilities

helping students in at-risk schools with recreation and academics

sharing a hobby or skill, or just being a friend, to formerly homeless veterans or persons in recovery

mentoring a child with a parent in prison

helping with administrative tasks in our offices.
