CEO photo Dear Friends,

What a challenge it is to report on all that Volunteers of America has faced and overcome during the past year and a half!
Since the hurricane and the subsequent flooding of our beloved city on Aug. 29, 2005, Volunteers of America has focused on renewing, rebuilding and serving.
Most of our properties suffered devastating damage.  Our employees endured huge personal losses.  Many of those we serve — already vulnerable — were negatively impacted in countless ways.  Our hearts have been heavy and broken by the collective and individual suffering.

Even so, we feel thankful and blessed.  We are grateful for still being able to serve, for all the help God has sent our way, for the many new friends who helped sustain us and those we serve.  We are thankful that  after the greatest catastrophe this country has ever experienced, Volunteers of America has brought back most of our programs, rebuilt many of our properties and started new initiatives to boost recovery.

The human needs still are overwhelming.  If you are able, we invite you to join us in working to meet them.  I ask for your continued prayers for our  communities, for people in need and for Volunteers of America as we strive to aid the recovery.

Sincerely,

Jim LeBlanc
President and CEO
